Zvi Galil Award

The Zvi Galil Award was created in 2008 to honor the engineering-focused student group that most improves engineering student life during the academic year through either a commitment to the engineering profession or through integration of engineering with other sectors of the university. The awardee could also be selected for demonstrating resourcefulness and a commitment to expanding the awareness of the engineering field and the engineering community on campus. The award comes with a monetary prize for the winning organization to be used at the group’s discretion. The winning group’s name will also be inscribed on a plaque to be placed at the entrance of Mudd.

  • Must be an engineering-focused student group
  • Eligible groups must be recognized by one of the 5 undergraduate governing boards.

To apply, please provide a statement (250 words or less) explaining how the group improves engineering student life during the academic year and send to Zuleica Lopez at zl2262@columbia.edu. Three finalists will be selected and interviewed by the committee. Deadline to apply for the spring 2015 award is Sunday, March 1, 2015.

The winner will be announced at the annual Kings Crown Leadership Excellence Awards in April.
