To meet the requirement for ALPHA Standards, chapters may participate in a multicultural workshop offered by Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL). Please complete the form below to request a workshop for your chapter.
It is not required for all chapters to participate in an FSL-sponsored multicultural workshop to meet the requirement for ALPHA Standards. Please work with your adviser to discuss additional options.
Currently, there are two workshop topics offered:
- Power, Privilege, and Oppression focuses on systemic/institutional social constructs that shape and reinforce our identities of privilege and marginalization.
- Creating an Inclusive Community focuses on ways individual members, chapters, and councils can create more inclusive environments for chapter and community members with marginalized identities.
These workshops, which run from about 90 to 120 minutes, are specifically geared towards the fraternity/sorority community and are led by professional staff members within Undergraduate Student Life.
Chapters are responsible for booking the space, taking attendance, and coordinating A/V needs (a screen and projector is needed for either workshop). Sessions have a maximum of 40 students. Chapters needing to request more than workshop in order to meet the percentage requirement should indicate this in the form.
