CSArts was created to give Columbia College and Columbia Engineering artists a space in which to showcase their artwork and talent on the walls of the Berick Center for Student Advising (CSA). Since the CSA has more than 23,000 appointments in the ten months of the academic year, these works of art will be seen by many.

In addition to providing a new forum for the artistic talents of our students, CSArts also seeks to foster new forms of collaboration among the offices supporting both Columbia College and Columbia Engineering and the talented students we advise and to support and the larger Columbia visual and performing arts communities.

Calling All Artists, Writers and Composers

CSArts seeks submissions of original artwork, poetry, film, photography, music compositions and other multi-media works from Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students. Students may submit up to two works for consideration during the open submission period. Look for an announcement to be emailed in the spring semester with details for the next open submission period.

  • Artwork: Submissions may include any media that is able to be hung or displayed on a wall, including but not limited to painting, drawing, graphic design, photography and architectural designs. Selected works will be exhibited throughout the CSA for the semester. If chosen, your artwork must be able to be hung on a wall and must be matted, framed or on a canvas.
  • Poetry: Please include a poem or excerpt of a poem (no more than 10 lines).
  • Film/multimedia: Please include a link to or file of your work(s).
  • Music: Please include an mp3 file or link to your composition(s).

Please contact csarts@columbia.edu with any questions.
