Academic Policies

The Center for Student Advising is responsible for convening the Committee on Academic Standing, which upholds the academic policies established by the faculty committees of Columbia College and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science.

The CC and SEAS Bulletins are the primary sources of policy information for the respective schools.

The Office of Academic Affairs for Columbia College provides key information about a range of Columbia College policies and procedures. Information on academic policies and procedures in Columbia Engineering is found here

If you feel your situation merits an exception to existing academic policy, you may submit a petition to the Committee on Academic Standing. Students are expected to discuss with their advising dean the grounds for their request prior to petitioning.
