Columbia College sophomores declare majors Mar. 10-13, 2026.
All sophomores are required to declare one major as a primary degree program. You may declare one or two additional programs (optional) up to a maximum of three programs of study. Your total programs may not include more than two majors, and they may not include more than two minors/special programs.
You will receive an email on Tuesday, Mar. 10 alerting you that the declaration portal is live. When you receive that message, follow these steps to declare:
- Click the link below
- Enter your uni and password to login
- Select your primary major from the first drop-down menu
- Optional: select additional programs from the next drop-down menus
- Click Submit
- Check your email for a confirmation message with information about advising in your new department
You may make changes to your declaration(s) at any time through Friday, Mar. 13. If you want to change your program(s) after that, contact your CSA adviser to complete a change-of-program form.
Declaring Comparative Literature and Society, Medical Humanities, or the Special Program in Business Management? These programs require an application and cannot be declared online. If you have applied to and are ultimately accepted into one of these programs, the CSA will add it to your record for you. You may still declare a second program via the online portal (optional). Students who wish to select a second program of study will need to make this selection using the “primary” (first) drop-down menu in the portal. The CSA will help you update your record later, if needed. If you have applied to the Business program, you will still need to declare a major via the online portal. You cannot complete your Columbia degree with only the Special Program in Business Management (or any special program).
Please reach out to your advising dean if you have any questions about the major declaration process.
