Modified Academic Deadlines for Fall 2023 – Columbia College

Dear Columbia College and Columbia GS students,

In recognition of the current challenges students are experiencing on campus, the CC-GS Committee on Instruction has approved the following modifications to certain academic deadlines for the Fall 2023 semester:

The deadline for declaring the Pass/D/Fail option for a course will be extended to Monday, December 11, 2023, the last day of classes for Fall 2023.

The deadline to withdraw from a course will be extended to Monday, December 11, 2023.

All other policies governing the use of the Pass/D/Fail option — as detailed in the Columbia College Bulletin and the Columbia General Studies Bulletin — remain the same.

Please consult your advising dean — in either the Berick Center for Student Advising or General Studies Academic Advising — about any questions you may have about the use of the Pass/D/Fail option and about any possible implications it may have for your current semester and for your future plans.

The Committee on Instruction will continue to monitor the student academic experience on campus, and will continue its broader considerations of the ways that academic policies and processes support both student learning and student well-being. We wish you all the best for the upcoming weeks of the semester and the Thanksgiving holiday ahead.

Sincerely,

Lisa Rosen-Metsch
