Administrators and staff will answer many of your top-of-mind questions about life as a Columbia undergrad in these interactive sessions, which will cover everything from academics to campus resources. Before you arrive on campus, we strongly encourage you to attend all webinars relevant to you. Most recordings will be posted on this page a week after each session.
Registration Instructions
Registration is required for all summer webinars and students are encouraged to sign up with their Columbia email address (log into the Columbia Zoom portal at columbiauniversity.zoom.us with their UNI and password to claim your account).
The teams from Undergraduate Student Life and Student & Family Support kicked off this summer’s Countdown to Columbia series with an introductory session designed for incoming students and their families. The discussion focused on key resources, support services, and what to expect as you begin your Columbia journey.
The International@Columbia team hosted an interactive session as part of the Countdown to Columbia Summer Webinar Series. It was designed specifically for incoming international students, this program provided guidance, resources, and practical information to help ease the transition to life at Columbia and your new home in New York City.

Academics at Columbia Engineering
Academic leaders from Columbia Engineering will discuss the array of curricular and co-curricular experiences open to Engineering students.
In this webinar, panelists described the Columbia University Student Health Insurance Plan and how to use it. The panelists discussed the health insurance waiver request process and how to make sure you meet all requirements on the checklist.
Meet the Financial Aid team as part of the Countdown to Columbia Summer Webinar Series. This informative session will provide students and families with an overview of financial aid policies, important deadlines, and key resources to help ensure a smooth transition to Columbia. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the support available throughout your Columbia journey. This event is open to all incoming Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students and their families.

This session will help incoming students navigate two of their first major administrative responsibilities at Columbia: registering for classes and paying their first student account bill. Representatives from the Student Service Center will explain the registration process, common registration issues, how to review charges and credits, available payment options, important deadlines, and where to go for assistance. Students will leave with practical steps for starting the academic year successfully and avoiding common registration and billing problems.
