NSOP will help you feel at home in Morningside Heights, become familiar with academic and co-curricular opportunities, learn about campus traditions, understand how to access campus resources and support services, and meet your Columbia community.
Dates, Duration and Details
For first-years, NSOP starts with Class of 2030 Convocation on Sunday, Aug. 30 and runs until Monday, Sept. 7. It will begin with a two-day immersion experience, allowing you to bond with your Orientation group and leader through fun and unique activities throughout the city and beyond. After these experiences, all immersion groups will reunite on our Morningside Heights campus for a week of community events and programming that will allow you to learn more about the University and to find your place at Columbia.
For transfer, visiting, exchange, and Combined Plan students the program begins on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and runs until Monday, Sept. 7.
