Summer Webinar Series

Administrators and staff will answer many of your top-of-mind questions about life as a Columbia undergrad – from academics to campus resources. Before you arrive on campus, we strongly recommend attending, or reviewing all programs relevant to you.

Mail and Package Pre-Delivery

Shipping items to campus in advance of Check-In is a smart move-in strategy. Review important dates and logistical information for shipping to campus before your arrival. Packages received by Columbia Mail Services between August 1 and August 15 will be eligible for direct delivery to students' rooms.

Arrival on Campus

August 24: Check-In for International Students, Bag Drop for approved Domestic Students
August 25: Check-In for Domestic Students
August 27: Check-In for Transfer and Combined-Plan students, Check-In for Visiting and Exchange Students

Welcome Events

August 25: Convocation ceremony for first-year students
August 27: Dean’s Welcome event for transfer and combined-plan students
August 27: Welcome event for visiting and exchange students

New Student Orientation Program (NSOP)

August 25 – September 2: First-year student orientation
August 27 – September 2: Transfer, combined-plan, visiting and exchange student orientation

Family Orientation

August 25: First-year families
August 27: Transfer, combine-plan, visiting and exchange families

Important Dates for Fall Term

September 3: First Day of Classes
October 25 – 27 Family Days & Homecoming
November 4 – 5: Fall Break (no classes)
November 27 – 29: Thanksgiving Break (no classes)
December 13 – 20: Final exam period
(We encourage students to wait until exact final exam schedules are assigned before making any holiday travel arrangements.)
January 21: First Day of Spring 2025 classes
