ROOTED (Respecting Ourselves & Others Through Empathy & Dialogue) is a group of trained facilitators dedicated to creating student-led spaces of solidarity, empathy and learning for members of the Columbia community to explore identity, power and privilege and how these forces impact experiences on campus and beyond.

If you are interested in meeting with one of our Peer Academic Skills Consultants, please fill out the form below.

Peer Academic Skills Consultants can help students:

  • Develop effective learning strategies;
  • Identify barriers to learning by providing them with individualized approaches; and
  • Assist students with a variety of topics, including time management, setting goals, note-taking, active reading and study strategies, effective use of office hours and campus resources, etc.

1. Form your study group. Fill out the below form and we'll connect you with other interested students. Study group can be formed for undergraduate courses, as well as exams such as MCAT or LSAT.

2. Find your study space. After being connected, discuss where to meet. You can use the many study spaces on campus or reserve study rooms (but make sure to do this early).

VESN is a network of Columbia College and SEAS students selected to serve as resources to Visiting & Exchange Students while facilitating social, cultural, and intellectual exchange. This program seeks to help students make the most of their time, both at Columbia and in New York City.
