Committee on Instruction Announces Updated Academic Policy for Columbia College Students

The Columbia College-General Studies Committee on Instruction (COI) has announced an update to the policy on the maximum number of points per term, the maximum number of programs of study, and double-counting certain courses toward two programs of study for Columbia College students. The policy will go into effect as of Fall 2017. Full details are below.

Summer Bridge Program Help Room Tutor Application

Prior to fall enrollment, entering first-year program participants attend a mandatory five-week Summer Bridge Program offered through Academic Success Programs.  Participants take courses in Calculus, Statistics, University Writing, Literature Humanities, Physics, Psychology, and Chemistry to prepare for the academic work required of Columbia students.

Columbia Celebrates GEN Day

GEN Day is on Monday, April 10.  FLIP at Columbia and FLIP National are spearheading GEN Day, the International Day of Visibility for First-Generation and/or Low-Income Students. FGLI students at Columbia will wear t-shirts on campus declaring our first-generation status, demonstrating our presence and contributions to the campus community. The day will culminate with a mixer involving students, administrators, and faculty, in which we can engage in conversation regarding the FGLI identity. The mixer is on Monday, April 10, from 7pm to 9pm in Broadway Room in Lerner.
