Jazz & The Arab World:
Tune in to the In All Languages show, Sunday 1st of February from 11pm to 2am to hear a special series exploring the fusion between traditional Arabic music with jazz expressions. We'll see how certain jazz musicians from the Middle-East such as the trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf are reshaping the expressions of jazz sounds. We will also look at musicians like Anouar Brahem, Dhafer Youssef or Rabih-Abou Khalil coming from a classical Arabic music background in which they integrate the traditional oud in a jazz context. Finally, we'll take a glimpse at the next generations of Arabic jazz musicians with New York-based Amir El Saffar or the Trio Joubran.
