Last Saturday I did special broadcast on the roots of one of history's most famous blues singers: Elvis Presley! The show featured a number of old blues tunes that Elvis famously covered, including Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup's "That's Alright Mama," Big Mama Thornton's "Hound Dog," and Carl Perkins's "Blue Suede Shoes." I went through the songs chronologically by the year the older version of the song was released.
Unfortunately this was my last show for WKCR. I've really appreciated everyone's phone calls, emails, and attention over the past 4 years -- thank you for all your support, and thank you for listening!
