A note on the Mozart Requiem recording played during this program:

This recording was recorded live on Sunday, January 19th 1964 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, Massachusetts for A Solemn Pontifical Requiem Mass in memory of the late President of the United States of America John Fitzgerald Kennedy, celebrated by Richard Cardinal Cushing, Archbishop of Boston, assisted by students from St. John's Seminary, Rt Rev. Matthew P. Stapleton (Rector) and Rt. Rev. Francis S. Rossiter (Master of Ceremonies). Mozart's Requiem Mass in D Minor K. 626 was performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Erich Leinsdorf, Music Director), Chorus Pro Musica (Alfred Nash Patterson, Director), Harvard Glee Club and Radcliffe Choral Society (Elliot Forbes, Director), New England Conservatory Chorus (Lorna Cooke deVaron, Director), St. John's Seminary Chorus (Rt. Rev. Russell H. Davis, Director), and featured the following soloists: Sara Mae Endich (Soprano), Eunice Alberts (Contralto), Nicholas DiVirgilio (Tenor), Mac Morgan (Baritone). Elisabeth Stam hosted this program of Afternoon Classical.
