This Afternoon Classical program was dedicated exclusively to the renowned German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, in celebration of his birthday. Born on May 28, 1925 in Berlin, Germany, the late Fischer-Dieskau would have turned 90 on this day. An incredibly talented, versatile performer, Fischer-Dieskau brought his clear and iconic sound to a wide range of operas, lieder, oratorios, song cycles, and more in a myriad of languages and styles. We listened to some of his greatest recordings many of which Fischer-Dieskau is best remembered for. Thank you for joining us as we celebrated Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's 90th birthday and his extraordinary contributions to classical music on Afternoon Classical, Thursday May 28th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
