Sonata for Oboe and Piano
Bach and Webern–two composers utterly fascinated by structure and order, chaos and death. We center this program around Christoph Poppen's superb album 'Ricercar,' recorded with the Münchener Kammerorchester & Hilliard Ensemble.
Poulenc's sonata for Oboe and piano provides a palette cleanser (which is not to say it is bland or inoffensive music!!) before we return to Bach on our usual Bach Hour program.
