Tutee Agreement

This is the tutee agreement webform for students who have requested tutoring with the CC/SEAS Tutoring Service.

If you have requested tutoring through your advising dean, please complete this webform as soon as possible. Students will not be assigned to a tutor until this webform has been completed.

Please note that the more availability you indicate, the more likely we will be able to fulfill your request in a timely manner.

I understand that as a tutee it is my responsibility to:

  • Respond to emails regarding my tutoring assignment in a timely manner.
  • Attend all scheduled tutorial sessions and keep the tutor informed of all coursework.
  • Come to each tutoring session prepared:
    • Come with specific questions for my tutor.
    • Bring all relevant course materials (textbook, lecture notes, syllabus, etc.)
  • Arrive on time and ready to start on schedule.
  • Notify the tutor as soon as possible if I am unable to attend a tutoring session.
  • Notify the tutoring program coordinator as soon as possible if I am discontinuing tutoring or have dropped the course.
  • Complete an evaluation form at the end of the semester.
  • Understand that tutoring sessions are not to be used for going over assigned homework problems, since that would be a violation of academic integrity guidelines and standards. Tutors are aware of this policy and will report any academic integrity issues to the Center for Student Advising.

  • Please note that tutoring is a semester-long commitment and tutees are expected to attend their two-hour tutoring session every week. If a tutee has more than two unexcused absences, s/he will lose his or her seat in the group to make room for other students. This policy will be strictly enforced.
