In light of the University's recent decision to relate of all Class Day ceremonies to the Baker Athletics Complex, we recommend that you review the latest information regarding event access and disability services on the University Commencement Office website.
We are committed to making the Columbia University Commencement Week events accessible to all guests. Disability Services coordinates this effort. These services are available to guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, and those with hearing and visual disabilities. During graduation events, Disability Services staff, event hosts, and Public Safety officers will be on hand to assist guests with disabilities.
Access to Campus
Guests with mobility issues should enter campus via the 116th Street gates at Amsterdam Avenue. Event hosts will be stationed at these gates and available to assist guests with seating. Prepare for your visit by viewing the campus disability access map.
Seating
Special seating is available to guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, and those with hearing and visual disabilities. Seating maps will be made available closer to the event dates.
Reservations are not required. Upon arrival to campus, please alert a University official to your needs, and he or she will direct you to the designated seating area.
Closed Captioning
Closed captioning will be available at both Class Day and Commencement in a designated seating area.

Wheelchairs
Columbia will offer a limited number of wheelchairs to guests who are visiting campus for graduation events, and there is no cost associated with borrowing a wheelchair. However, please bring your own if possible as there is a limited quantity.

Parking
Columbia does not offer on-campus parking. Drivers are advised to drop off and pick up passengers with disabilities at the gates located at the intersection of 116th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. A list of private parking garages is available on the Commencement website.
