Dear active WKCR listeners, supporters, alumni, and students. We invite you to sign up for our new mailing list: an initiative that we hope can boost transparency at the station as we continue our efforts to provide you with engaging programming. Digital communication has become increasingly vital as the pandemic has reshaped our modes of distribution and consumption. In the past, WKCR sent on-air guides as physical mailers to all of our community members on our mailing list. At this point, we recognize that paper distribution is no longer a preferred means of communication for most of our listeners. We continue to adapt to these new "normals" while still staying true to our mission, traditions, and values. We aim to roll out a new monthly newsletter within the next month that will provide our community members with all the important updates that they once enjoyed from our on-air guide pamphlets. To sign up for our new mailing list, fill out the google form (linked below) and provide us with your basic information and email address (no other personal data will be collected). Additionally, you can follow us on all our social media platforms.
We are planning to revive our beloved pre-covid on-air programming guide as a redesigned monthly newsletter. This will be a great way to stay up to date on special broadcasts and festivals, live performances, events, and general announcements. We will also feature stories from the WKCR archives, DJ spotlights, album reviews, and more. This will be a great way for active listeners to remain engaged with WKCR and all station developments. We hope that this will increase transparency as we continue our mission to provide non-commercial, non-traditional music and programming to the Greater New York area and our wider listener base.
