This Week in the Arts Department: Arts & Answers with Anton Perich, Art Waves with Jake Yuzna and Samuel Jamier

Thursday, June 30, 2011: This week's Arts & Answers features an interview with artist Anton Perich. Perich operates in a variety of media including paint, photography, film and video. After beginning his career as an 8mm filmmaker and curator of a French underground avant-garde film series, he moved to New York where his photography landed him a job with Andy Warhol's "Interview" magazine. He abandoned film in favor of video in the early 70s and with one of the first portable video cameras shot a documentary detailing the poetry and philosophy of Muhammad Ali as he constructed his training camp leading up to the fight with George Foreman. Anthology Film Archives will play the long lost movie this Friday evening. For more information check out http://www.anthologyfilmarchives.org
