Gotham Chamber Opera's Neal Goren and David Bennett join us just before the debut of La hija de Rappaccini at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. With a libretto by Octavio Paz and a lavish score by composer Daniel Catán, the opera tells of a doctor who protects and controls his beautiful daughter by keeping her locked in a garden where he experiments with poisonous plants. She is immune to the plants but carries their danger. Rappaccini is set in the Cherry Esplanade and will be performed June 17th and 24th. Hosted by Anne Fiero.
