Composer and saxophonist Rob Reddy will be joining host Kat Whatley on Out To Lunch on Tuesday September 29 to discuss his new record, Bechet: Our Contemporary. In Bechet: Our Contemporary, Reddy pays homage to jazz legend Sidney Bechet by intertwining original compositions by Bechet with those of his own. Since the early 90’s, Reddy has worked in more than fifteen ensembles of various sizes, performing music inspired by American folk forms as well as jazz. He has received numerous grants and commissions including from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Jerome Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.
