Saturday, April 16, 2016 - 9:00pm to Sunday, April 17, 2016 - 1:00am

Armenian soprano Lianna Haroutounian has caused an international stir since her sudden debut at the Royal Opera House in 2013, when she replaced star soprano Anja Harteros as Elisabetta in Don Carlo. Earning rave reviews, she has quickly established herself as one of the world's premiere lyrico spintos, making major company debuts everywhere from Zurich to Sydney. This Saturday, Ms. Haroutounian concludes her acclaimed run as Amelia in Simon Boccanegra with Placido Domingo and James Levine, but tune in to this week's installment of Saturday Night At The Opera on Saturday April 16th at 9:00 PM to hear this rising artist speak about her training, repertoire, and her opportunity to now work with the very artists who inspired her. After the interview, the featured opera will be Armen Tigranyan's folkloric opera Anoush, with Gohar Gasparyan (commonly known as "The Armenian Nightingale") in the title role. Stepan Atamian hosts on WKCR 89.9 FM NY.
