Al Jaffee has been drawing Mad Magazine's famous three-panel fold-ins nearly every week for almost 50 years. In fall of 2013, Jaffee decided to donate his work, including posters, sketches, and never-published comic strips, to Columbia University's Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Late City Edition sat down with Karen Green, Columbia University's graphic novels librarian, to talk about the acquisition of Jaffee's work, and to discuss its importance and the importance of Mad Magazine in the history of New York City publishing and pop culture
