Will Connell Jr. came to prominence during the 1960s from his work with Horace Tapscott and had played an important yet understated role in the free jazz and new music scene since he moved to New York in 1975. He continued to tour and play throughout his life with artists such as Chico Hamilton, Pharoah Sanders, Arthur Blythe, Sam Rivers, Henry Threadgill, Oliver Lake, and Anthony Braxton. Will Connell Jr. passed away on November 19th, 2014 at age 75. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the legacy of Will Connell Jr.
