appy New Year! After another wonderful year of Bachfest, we are gearing up for a new year of great programming, with some exciting broadcasts this January. Of course, as always, our Max Roach birthday broadcast returns on Saturday, January 10th. Antonio Carlos Jobim and Roy Eldridge broadcasts will be on the 25th and 30th, respectively. We also have an exciting new broadcast this year, which will be a joint birthday broadcast between two great—but very different—composers, Phillip Glass and Franz Schubert, both with birthdays on January 31st.

In this month’s edition of the On-Air Guide, you’ll find some great reviews! Including a review of De La Soul’s new record, the recent Met Opera production of Carmen, and a retrospective on The Rolling Thunder Revue. Additionally, see an exciting annual list of WKCR’s collective Top 50 albums of 2025 as selected by dozens of different hosts and people around WKCR.
