Ingrid Laubrock
Monday, December 12, 2016 - 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Tune in to Afternoon New Music this Monday, December 12th at 3 pm for an exclusive in-studio interview with saxophonist and composer Ingrid Laubrock. The 45-minute program will feature Laubrock discussing her new album Serpentines, as well as its upcoming album release party happening this Thursday, December 15th at 8 pm at Roulette.

After relocating to Brooklyn in 2008, Ingrid Laubrock soon became a creative epicentre in the New York jazz scene, and is now one of the most significant voices in contemporary jazz. Laubrock's new album Serpentines fits in her musical cosmos, in which improvisational furor, compositional rigor, calculation and freedom, are all intermingled. Laubrock grounded this formation with an unusual septet lineup having been given a carte blanche for the 2015 Vision Festival. Ingrid Laubrock Septet consists of New York City-based musicians who have all made a huge impact as composers, performers and improvisers in their own right. It’s a cast of innovative performers who are specialized in experimental music and constantly look for fresh avenues to create truly new music.
