Join us this evening for a special edition of the Musician's Show where we are joined by none other than drummer Charli Persip! Charli has lived an incredible life in jazz, innovating and making waves in both big bands and smaller groups. In his early career, he worked with Tadd Dameron and then went on to play for Dizzy Gillespie for five years. In the 50's and 60's, he led his own groups and also worked with such players as Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, Archie Shepp, and Gil Evans. He remains active in the music scene with his Superband in addition to working as an author and an educator. And his story is just as interesting as his sound; tune in and catch the whole thing!
