The No Music Festival, held in London, Canada in October 2000, was a noise festival centering around and featuring the influential Nihilist Spasm Band, here collaborating with American saxophonist Joe McPhee. Our Live Constructions program featured the majority of this live outing between these musicians.
This incarnation of the NSB consists of John Boyle (kazoo, drums, thumb piano), John Clement (guitar, drums), Bill Exley (voice, kazoo, cooking pot), Murray Favro (guitar, drums), Hugh McIntyre (bass), and Art Pratten (violin, water pipe). Joe McPhee ventures outside his normal realm, using pocket cornet, didgeridoo, and voice alongside Casio sax and tenor sax.
