Late City Edition

Late City Edition airs every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00-9:30pm. On Monday nights, tune in for special programming from Late City Edition: During the academic year, Youth Mic airs on the first Monday of every month. Youth Mic is a teen radio program that runs out of WKCR studios in which high-school and middle-school-aged producers create a weekly talk show on issues important to teens. Every Monday from 9:00-9:30 p.m. the Youth Mic crew presents news, debate, poetry and commentaries on topics that concern teens from their unique perspectives. Participants are a diverse group of students from each borough who come together to share their voices with each other and the wider New York population. Sounds cool? If you or a youth you know is interested in joining YM or finding out more about the program, please email Erica at news@wkcr.org with "Youth Mic Interest" in the subject line. On the second Monday of every month, we air our AC4 series, a collaboration with Columbia University’s Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict, and Complexity. Each month, AC4 director Professor Peter Coleman sits down with leaders in peace studies and conflict resolution to discuss their current projects. Beyond these series, tune in to Late City Edition for original and archived news programming, brought to you by our team of student producers. From campus lectures to a history of political comic books, Late City Edition explores local, national, and global issues relevant to the Columbia community and beyond. In addition to our original programming, we air a rich archive of historical recordings, including addresses from Abbie Hoffman and Martin Luther King, Jr.
