Saturday, February 10, 2018 - 8:00am to Sunday, February 11, 2018 - 8:00am
Tune in this Saturday Febrary 10th at 8am to Sunday Febrary 11th at 8am ET for 24 hours celebrating the music of Bob Marley and Dennis Brown.
As a long time collector of Marley and Browns music, our very own Van Davis, DJ of the beloved "Footsteps in Reggae" program, plans to exhibit hundreds of songs by the two artists. This will also include special rare cuts never heard before which were bestowed to Van by Clarence Dodd, an iconic Music producer of the Studio One label, who worked with both artists. Tune in for a day of music and exciting guests such as the likes of Jeff Sarge from “The Reggae Schoolroom” on 99.1, and Bobby Channel One of Culture Jam radio on NYC’s 93.5 who will be spinning their eclectic collection of Brown and Marley’s music. The highlight for many listeners will be to hear all of these musical gems on Vinyl. We will be having a Q&A session and encourage both the older and younger generations of listeners to call in with questions concerning the history of the two musical greats. There will be live call in’s by the daughter of Dennis Brown, Marla Brown. Roger Steffens a Bob Marley aficionado and former radio host from WKCR’s sister station KCRW in California will also do a call in interview.
In a nutshell, this birthday musical marathon for Marley and Brown promises to be educational as well as meditational to listeners across the world.
