This show kicked off Late City Edition's coverage of on-campus group Student-Worker Solidarity’s advocating for Columbia University Faculty House workers. Producer Erica Getto brought two of the group’s student organizers – Jane and George – to the studios to discuss the group’s previous work in the community, its current role in the Faculty House workers’ contract negotiations, and whether their work marks the return of Columbia’s historic student activism.

Producer Erica Getto sat down with Professor Frances Negrón-Muntaner to discuss Columbia University’s recent acquisition of 5000 El Diario/La Prensa photographs spanning 40 years. Negrón-Muntaner, who directs Columbia’s Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, curated the collection from New York’s oldest Spanish-speaking newspaper. Tune in to hear about the curation process, the photographs’ content, and their cultural and historical implications.
