In 2012, Pérez became the first Hispanic recipient of the Richard Tucker Award, and she has just been announced as the 2016 Beverly Sills Award recipient. Although Pérez has already become a regular guest of almost every major opera company, last season was her first at The Metropolitan Opera, where she received rave reviews as Micaela in Bizet's Carmen.
