The Office of Residential Life is excited to offer students interested in entrepreneurship or an entrepreneurship lifestyle the opportunity to participate in Res. Inc., short for Residential Incubator. Res. Inc. is a singular living and learning opportunity open to students who are interested in living alongside like-minded entrepreneurs in a hands-on, ideas-rich environment. Housed in the Living Learning Center (LLC) on the 8th floor of Wallach Hall, this cross-disciplinary community fosters creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship by drawing on the diverse skills and strengths of both Upperclass and First-Year CC and SEAS student. No business development experience is required, just an enterprising outlook and a passion for bringing business ideas to reality.
Res. Inc. residents collaborate to develop innovative programs and products, identify potential markets and promote their business ideas. Workshops, internships, mentoring and business plan competitions help participants hone and develop entrepreneurial skills. The Res Inc. curriculum provides students with access to faculty and professionals in their fields of interest. Key features of the Res. Inc. curriculum include:
- A fall seminar series informed by Steve Blank’s “Lean LaunchPad” teachings
- Site visits within New York City’s booming start-up world
- Dinners and receptions with alumni entrepreneurs
- Gatherings hosted by the LLC Faculty-in-Residence, who is an entrepreneur himself
