Robert Harron Award
Zahra Husain CC’27, who is from Lahore, Pakistan, is studying computer science with a concentration in business management. She is being recognized for her leadership and commitment to building inclusive communities at Columbia and beyond. Husain serves as a RA, and as such she mentors students and fosters a supportive residential environment. She is the president of Club Zamana, Columbia’s largest South Asian umbrella organization, and leads its initiatives, which bring together diverse campus groups through cultural programming and collaboration. Husain is also involved with the Student Ambassadors for Columbia College Alumni and serves as a University Life ambassador, strengthening connections across the Columbia community. She also founded an organization in Pakistan that teaches STEM to students in under-resourced schools, reflecting her dedication to expanding access to education. Husain is honored to receive the Robert Harron Award in recognition of her commitment to service, leadership, and community impact.
