Civic Responsibility
Thatcher Daniel Anderson CC’26 double majored in political science and American studies. He served as a legislative intern at the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs under Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). In July 2024, Anderson was elected to represent Indiana's 4th Congressional District as a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. During his time at Columbia, he worked closely with Columbia University College Democrats, Columbia Votes, Columbia Political Review, and Columbia Undergraduate Law Review. Previously, Anderson worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative intern for Rep. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.) in Washington, D.C., and served as an immigration intern for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand at her district office in New York City. Anderson also helps organize the annual Liberty Christian Sports Camp, a free-of-charge athletics clinic that serves youth in the Morgan County area of Indiana.
