Kehbuma Nukuna SEAS’26 majored in chemical engineering with a minor in political science and is being recognized for his devotion to leadership and development within various diverse spheres of the Columbia undergraduate community. He has served as co-president of Columbia’s African Students Association, as research chair of the African Development Group, as co-chair of the Black History Month Committee, as an outreach coordinator for Community Impact’s Project Tutors Committee, and as the long-standing publications representative for the Activities Board, among many other positions. Along with being a student employee at the Climate School, and a former research assistant for the Kumar Polymer research lab, Nukuna has dedicated his academic experience to the pursuit of knowledge and service, seeking to expand the bounds of sustainable development from both a technological and policy-based approach. Throughout his all-encompassing experiences in planning, executing, and financing a substantial number of student events, cultural initiatives, and research programs, he has committed himself to being a true pillar of student life in his short time at Columbia.
