Julia Ding SEAS’27 is being recognized for her commitment to building inclusive, supportive communities across Columbia’s residential, cultural, and technical spaces. As an RA, she creates programming that fosters meaningful peer connections and belonging. Through her leadership in Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority — including various executive board roles as VP external and chair of academic, alumni, and community service initiatives — she has strengthened alumni relationships, led philanthropic efforts, and celebrated cultural identity. Ding also contributes to uplifting underrepresented groups in computer science through her roles as community chair of Women and Gender Diverse in Computer Science and as an organizer for initiatives like Devfest through the Application Development Initiative. Across all her roles, she prioritizes collaboration and creating spaces where others feel supported and empowered.
