Indigo Guikema CC’28 is majoring in mathematics. He is honored to receive the Emerging Leader award for his work as treasurer and two-time captain of the Columbia Mock Trial team. As captain, he has led the team to multiple individual awards and a podium placement, trained new members in performance skills, and spent hours reviewing, editing, and running directs, crosses, and statements. Guikema’s commitment to the team continues into his role as treasurer, where he has organized club travel and managed club funds. Additionally, he has served as tab director for the club’s annual tournament, Columbia University Big Apple Invitational Tournament. He looks forward to continuing his leadership on the team and inspiring a love for mock trial in the next new member class, and hopes to extend his leadership to other pursuits through mathematics research and tutoring.
