Emerging Leader
Emily Grunstein SEAS’27 is pursuing a B.S. in civil engineering. She is being recognized for her dedication to building community and supporting student transitions within SEAS. As the transfer students representative on the Engineering Student Council, Grunstein plays a key role in welcoming new students while contributing to student council programming. She co-founded the Transfer Student Mentorship Program and helped launch its kickoff event. She also organized the second annual transfer student gala, which was widely attended and well received. Grunstein looks forward to continuing to serve students and the broader community during her remaining time at Columbia. She can often be found swimming laps at Uris Pool or exploring New York City on foot. She is excited to pursue a career in structural and geotechnical engineering, where she hopes to design and build infrastructure that brings people together.
