Claire Lucille Padilla CC’26 studied neuroscience and behavior with aspirations of becoming a cardiologist. As co-president of Columbia University’s Students for Global Health Equity and Medicine, she championed HIV and sexual health initiatives in northern Uganda, including through a six-week internship with GWED-G in Gulu, where she contributed to HIV education, malaria testing, and sanitation programming. Padilla has conducted research at Columbia’s Cerebrovascular Lab, investigating optimal intervention strategies for subdural hemorrhage, and is a co-author on a peer-reviewed publication in surgical and radiologic anatomy. For two years, she dedicated herself to the Columbia-Bronx Oncology Living Daily Program (B.O.L.D.) program, first as a VoicePal volunteer providing emotional support to oncology patients from underrepresented communities, and later as co-president, organizing clothing drives, seasonal celebrations, and volunteer coordination. A Dean's List honoree, Padilla leads with compassion and purpose.
