Civic Responsibility
Cara SoHee Wreen CC’27 is studying economics and political science, with a particular interest in the political economy of regulation, antitrust, and labor policy. She is being recognized for her commitment to civic engagement and global engagement within the Columbia community. Wreen has served as chair of the Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought, as editor-in-chief of the Columbia Journal of Asia, as lead editor of the Online Division of the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, as student scholar for the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, and as a research assistant for the political science department and SIPA. She has also served as an RA for first-years, advising fellow for Matriculate, and treasurer of the Korean Students Association. Wreen also has founded civic engagement initiatives in New York City, conducted policy analysis, and interned for the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division. She is excited to deepen her study of institutions that shape a more just political economy while continuing to foster community within Columbia.
