Senior Marshal
Arya Anoush Balian CC’26 double-majored in political science and music. Committed to building the Columbia community, she served as the Columbia College Women representative on the executive board of Student Ambassadors for Columbia College Alumni, as VP of the Columbia Armenian Society, and as music director of the Metrotones, Columbia’s SSAA a cappella group. Since her first semester, she was an employee at the Columbia University Visitors Center, supporting admissions and the next generation of Columbians. Balian is also a New Student Orientation Program Lifer, working as an Orientation leader in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Balian also interned at The Play Company and Voice of America, bridging communities worldwide. A classically trained vocalist, she has performed on national and international television, at Carnegie Hall, at the Kennedy Center, and at the Sydney Opera House, and has sung the U.S. national anthem at MLB and NBA games.
