Senior Marshal
Aleska Velka Medrano Lujan CC’26 was born and raised in Bolivia, where witnessing the misuse of resources sparked her early interest in how societies address scarcity. Motivated by this, Medrano Lujan studied financial economics and mathematics. She has conducted macroeconomic research with Nobel laureate Thomas Sargent while gaining experience in investment banking at Société Générale, as well as in the nonprofit sector. As a Kluge Scholar and President of the Columbia Undergraduate Scholars Program Alliance, she revitalized the organization after its three years of inactivity by rebuilding its programming and strengthening its community. Across these experiences, Medrano Lujan seeks to pair academic excellence with integrity, guided by the belief that leadership demands both technical rigor and ethical responsibility.
“All praise and thanks be to God! I am deeply grateful to my fiancé, family, mentors, professors, and friends, who have supported me in every step of my college journey. Your encouragement has meant more than I can fully express, and I’m proud to share this honor with each of you.”
