Inclusion and Advocacy
Alex Ueoka CC’25 is a senior studying neuroscience and behavior and public health on the pre-medical track. Throughout her time at Columbia, Ueoka has cherished learning from the diverse backgrounds and experiences of her peers and has been committed to building supportive, inclusive communities in all her endeavors. She has had the privilege of serving as a leader in Columbia’s chapter of Kesem, a non-profit organization that supports children through and beyond a parent’s cancer; as well as in Mālama Hawai'i, where she has worked to foster a sense of community among students with shared interests in Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander culture. Additionally, Ueoka has been passionate about promoting college access as chair of the Columbia Admissions Multicultural Recruitment Committee. She has also enjoyed her role as a teaching assistant for Contemporary Biology Laboratory, where she strives to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has made the Columbia community such a special place to support my learning and growth. I am especially thankful for my family, friends, professors and mentors for their unwavering support, encouragement, and guidance throughout my undergraduate journey.
