Award Recognition

Emerging Leader
Natalie Spollen CC’27 is a sophomore intending to major in statistics, and she is honored to receive the Emerging Leader award for her work in disability advocacy and building community on campus. Spollen has served as the disability & accessibility representative for the engineering council for the past year, where she has distributed masks and COVID tests, introduced successful amendments to the ESC constitution, and served on the Student Health Advisory Committee. Beyond ESC, Spollen has been active in welcoming new students and building an inclusive community on campus, as a mentor through Columbia Mentoring Initiative’s Disability Justice tree, as an Under1Roof facilitator and as a member of Spoons, Columbia’s disability justice discussion group. She is excited to continue engaging with the disability community next year by facilitating Spoons!
Much love to Spoons & the disability justice family tree within CMI — proud to call you all family :))
