Somin Lee SEAS’25 is a graduating senior majoring in applied mathematics. She distinguishes herself through a blend of rigorous academics, impactful research and deep community engagement. Lee contributed more than 500 volunteer hours at Bellevue Hospital, providing essential support to the New York City community. She has also dedicated herself to mentoring children with type 1 diabetes, offering guidance and encouragement through an online platform throughout her college years. In addition, in Kupsco Lab, Lee conducted innovative research focused on detecting biomarkers for preeclampsia, a leading cause of premature delivery for which early diagnosis and a cure remain elusive. Her work in this critical area underscores her commitment to advancing healthcare and exemplifies her leadership and civic responsibility.
