Chinmay Kumar CC’27 is being recognized for his dedication to bridging healthcare disparities through research, clinical work and community engagement. Kumar has pursued extensive clinical and research experiences, including roles as a medical assistant at ODA/MEDRITE Urgent Care and a research lead at Columbia Irving Medical Center and NYU Langone. His work spans nephrogenetic counseling disparities, ischemic stroke outcomes and molecular biology applications in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Beyond research, Kumar is passionate about patient care and medical mentorship, having volunteered in emergency departments and led community health initiatives. With hands-on experience in phlebotomy, patient care and statistical analysis, he strives to integrate translational research with compassionate medical practice. Kumar aims to specialize in a competitive medical field where he can spur innovation in healthcare while advocating for underserved populations.
