Senior Marshal
Geena Kim CC’25 is being recognized for her volunteering, community-building and research efforts that promote health and wellness. At the Chio Lab in the Irving Cancer Research Center, Kim led an independent study on lipid peroxidation regulation in pancreatic cancer while also mentoring a younger student, reflecting her commitment to scientific discovery and education. Kim’s passion for service extends to the New York City nonprofit Dance to Unite, where she teaches dance and leads guided conversations on respect and unity in public schools. She also volunteers with Radio Lollipop at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, helping to create joyful experiences for pediatric patients. At Columbia, Kim has served as a teaching assistant in the Psychology Department and a peer tutor at the Center for Student Advising. She also worked to strengthen campus life as a Residence Hall Council representative and as VPof the Columbia Korean Students Association, where she championed cultural awareness and inclusivity.
I would like to thank my family, friends and mentors for their love, guidance and support throughout my time at Columbia! I am so blessed to be part of this community, and I could not have done it without them.
