Award Recognition

Senior Marshal
Harrison is being recognized for his commitment to leverage diversity to build strong communities in the face of political, religious, and environmental challenges. Harrison served a three-year residency at the historic Intercultural House, where he brought over 200 students together for Shabbat Dinners to bridge political and religious divides over conversation. As a Sustainable Development major, Harrison co-founded and led the Student Union for Sustainable Development for environmentally-minded students. Harrison focused his thesis on the impacts of university sustainability abroad, which gives back directly to Columbia's global impact and the university’s Fourth Purpose. As a Senior Kraft Global Fellow, Harrison fully invested in his Columbia travel opportunities, learning the languages and contributing to sustainability efforts. Harrison serves on the Scholar Advisory Board for the Laidlaw Foundation and participated in the United Nations as a Youth Representative for the Association of International Educators.

I feel incredibly rich in friendship and am thankful for the laughter, smiles, and companionship of my peers. I am honored to have learned from and now celebrate with my mentors. I want to especially thank my mentors from the Kraft Global Fellowship, Global Thought Scholars, Laidlaw Scholarship, and Sustainable Development program.
